Mkomazi View Camp : lies in a secluded valley called Watershed inside Mkomazi National Park, where it overlooks one of the biggest waterholes in the park. The camp lies close to the Mbula Rhino Sanctuary, where you can watch the endangered rhino at close range, and the Dindira Dam, a popular spot where many wild animals come to drink. The camp houses only eight ensuite tents, running on solar power and equipped with outside bucket showers. Its stunning location in combination with more than just a touch of comfort and privacy ensures a lovely evening under the endless night sky of Mkomazi.
Mkomazi view camp is perfect for a relaxing day watching the wildlife from your veranda or our viewpoint overlooking the Dindira Plains.,Camp offers breathtaking views, unique wildlife and an authentic safari feeling in the heart of the remote Mkomazi National Park. The camp, with only 6 furnished en-suite tents, is situated in the north-western part of the park near the new Mbula Rhino Sanctuary and Dindira Dam. Surrounded by rolling hills, it is located on a slope with views across Watershed Valley, popular with eland, zebras, giraffe, elephant and Bohor reedbuck. The wide variety of bird life is well known among bird specialists.
The best way to get to Mkomazi National Park is by road from Moshi or Arusha town.
Most people fly into Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), which is situated between Arusha and Moshi. The 40km/25mi drive to Moshi takes about 1 hour* and the 50km/31mi drive to Arusha takes about 1½ hours*. It is also possible to fly into Julius Nyerere International Airport (DAR) in Dar es Salaam and fly on to Arusha Airport (ARK) or Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO). In most cases, your tour operator will pick you up from the airport.
Mkomazi is right next to the small town of Same, which is a comfortable 112km/69mi drive south from Moshi. The drive from Moshi to the park takes between 2 and 2½ hours*. Mkomazi is a bit out of the way compared to most other parks in northern Tanzania, but it could be visited en route to the Usambara Mountains.
